Perform like a professional - Vocal Training 102

Overview:
Vocal training 102 course is second of three part Vocal Training Program. This course is ideal for trainees with basic to intermediate knowledge in music seeking to improve and enhance their singing skills to perform like a professional. In this course, trainees will be learning performance tips and other complex concepts such as chord progression, range improvement, vocal detailing techniques, voice registers and so on. Through out the course there will be vocal exercises and creative assignments to make this an interactive and proactive learning process.

1. Pitch - Part 2
- Range advanced
- Major and Minor scales
- Chord progression
- How to improve range?
- Key Signature

2. Rhythm - Part 2
- 5 and 7 beat patterns
- Time Signature

3. Vocals
- Voice register - resonating cavities
- Head Voice, Chest voice
- Vocal techniques
- Vibrato, sliding, volume control, Harkatein/Sangathi (Indian music)
- Weekly vocal exercises with increasing difficulties

4. Performance - Part 1
- Verbal/non verbal expressions
- Live vs. Virtual singing

5. Assignments to assess the students at the end of the course

Methodology:
Scaffolding and practical learning methodology of teaching will be adopted to break down the concepts to bite sized concepts for easy comprehension. Trainees will be prepared to perform in contests and shows with confidence. Higher order thinking methods will be used to enable trainees to understand, analyze, apply, evaluate various types of songs from different genres in Indian music, create their own tune and master to perfection. Building a community of fellow music lovers to share feedback with each other and grow together.

Prerequisites:
Anyone above 14 years with at least 6 months of music learning experience in any genre and has a basic understanding of pitch (Sur/Shruti) and Rhythm (Taal/Taala) AND has successfully completed Vocal training 101 course.

Course Format:
Batch Size: 4 to 6
Duration: 12 weeks, one 55 minute class per week
